Harmony Hoss

Harmony Hoss, is a Raven moiety from Beaver Clan, Deisheetaan. Born is Seattle, Washington, Harmony is entirely self-taught and her
intricate prints and beadwork are drawn freehand using pen and ink, acrylic paint, and colored pencils. Amazingly, she doesn’t use any
rulers or straight edges in her work. As a formline artist and beadist, Harmony has established her own unique style combining these
two art forms together, bringing formline to beadwork, creating spectacular works from small delicate earrings to intricate beaded boxes.
She experiments with angles, design configuration, the use of color and space to create a more contemporary feminine look while still
keeping true to formline.
Harmony Hoss, est moitié Corbeau du clan Castor, Deisheetaan. Née à Seattle, Washington, Harmony est entièrement
autodidacte et ses imprimés complexes et son perlage sont dessinés à main levée à l’aide de plume et d’encre, de peinture
acrylique et de crayons de couleur. Étonnamment, elle n’utilise aucune règle ni aucun bord droit dans son travail. En tant
qu’artiste de lignes-formes et de perles, Harmony a établi son propre style unique combinant ces deux formes d’art ensemble,
créant des œuvres spectaculaires de petites boucles d’oreilles délicates aux boîtes perlées complexes. Elle expérimente les
angles, la configuration du design, l’utilisation de la couleur et de l’espace pour créer un look féminin plus contemporain tout
en restant fidèle à la forme.

Heiltsuk artist Ben Houstie was born in Bella Bella, BC (Waglisla) in 1960. Ben’s works include: original paintings, limited
edition prints, carved cedar rattles and paddles. He has worked with Cheryl Hall, Robert Hall, David Gladstone and Beau
Dick. In 1988, Ben worked under Bill Reid painting several drums of Bill’s designs and 20 paddles for the Canadian Museum
of Civilization in Ottawa. Ben also painted several reconstructed artworks in 2000 for the Museum of Anthropology’s ‘The
Transforming Image’ exhibition, at the University of British Columbia.
L’artiste Heiltsuque Ben Houstie est né à Bella Bella, C.B. (Waglisla) en 1960. Les œuvres de Ben comprennent: peintures,
estampes à tirages limités, des hochets de cèdre sculptés et pagaies. Il a travaillé avec Cheryl Hall, Robert Hall, David
Gladstone et Beau Dick. En 1988, Ben a travaillé avec Bill Reid peinturant plusieurs caisses sous les designs de Bill et 20
pagaies pour le Musée Canadien des Civilisations à Ottawa. Ben a également peint plusieurs oeuvres reconstruites en 2000

Patrick Hunter

Patrick Hunter is an Ojibway, 2spirit, Woodland and graphic artist from Red Lake, ON. His works are inspired by his homeland,
the works of Norval Morrisseau, and the Canadian Group of 7. Patrick Hunter Art & Design was launched in 2014 with the
intent to make artwork that makes people feel good. Since then, Patrick has been able to reach new audiences by adapting
his work to be placed on apparel and houseware items. His strong yet elegant graphic work invites us to realize that
everything has spirit and significance.
Patrick Hunter est un artiste graphique Ojibway, Two-Spirit, et de boisé provenant de Red Lake, ON. Ses œuvres sont inspirées
par sa terre natale, les œuvres de Norval Morrisseau, et le groupe canadien des 7. Patrick Hunter Art & Design a été lancé en
2014 avec l’objectif de montrer des œuvres d’art faisant en sorte que les gens se sentent bien. Depuis cette date, Patrick a été
en mesure d’atteindre un nouvel auditoire en adaptant le placement de ses œuvres sur des vêtements et des articles ménagers.
Son travail artistique fort quoique toujours élégant nous invite à réaliser que tout possède un esprit et une signification. Tout
depuis la moindre des graines à l’arbre le plus majestueux.
