Alan Syliboy
Mi’kmaq
Alan Syliboy was born and raised on the Millbrook First Nations Reservations in Nova Scotia, and like many others of his
generation, he grew up believing that First Nations artwork was generic; or what you saw on television and other mass media
sources. As a youth, feeling unsure of his talents and his identity, he found painting painful and difficult. It wasn’t until he
met and studied privately with renowned Maliseetartist, Shirley Bear, that he found his confidence and began to take his
own path.
Alan Syliboy est né et a grandi sur les réserves des Premières Nations de Millbrook en Nouvelle-Écosse, et comme beaucoup
d’autres de sa génération, il a grandi en croyant que les œuvres des Premières Nations étaient génériques;… ou ce que vous
avez vu à la télévision et d’autres sources de médias de masse. Dans sa jeunesse, se sentant sûr de ses talents et de son
identité, il a trouvé la peinture pénible et difficile. Ce n’est qu’après qu’il rencontre et a étudie en privé avec l’artiste Malécite
de renom, Shirley Bear, qu’il a trouvé sa confiance, et a commencé à prendre son propre chemin.

Gitksan
Keith Tait was born into the Gitksan Nation at Kispiox, British Columbia. He was trained in art and design at the Gitamaax
School of Northwest Art at Ksan Village in Hazelton. Keith Tait’s graphic sensibility is reflected in the bold precision of his
artwork. His designs provide a unique and natural expression of the Northwest Coast traditions of the Bella Coola region.
Keith Tait est né en Nation Gitsan à Kispiox dans la province de la Colombie Britannique. Il a été formé en art et design à l’École d’art nordouest Gitamaax au village Ksan à Hazelton. La sensibilité graphique de Keith Tait est reflétée dans ses œuvres par la précision incroyable.
Ses créations offrent une expression unique et naturelle de la côte nord-ouest des traditions de la région de Bella Coola.

Brandy Jones, a proud Gwitchin and Inuvialuit artist hailing from Williams Lake, British Columbia, is a beacon of creativity
and cultural expression. With a innovative style that represents the unity of all Indigenous nations, Brandy’s work captivates
audiences and celebrates the beauty, success, hardships, and perseverance of Indigenous peoples. Having gained national
recognition, Brandy’s art has been featured in two arts magazines, and her talent has taken her work to eight countries,
including prestigious showcases for Hockey Canada and The Paralympics. Her international exposure has allowed her to
share the rich heritage and stories of Indigenous communities on a global scale.

la créativité et de l’expression culturelle. Avec un style novateur qui représente l’unité de toutes les nations autochtones, le
travail de Brandy captive le public et célèbre la beauté, le succès, les difficultés et la persévérance des peuples autochtones.
