Shana Yellow Calf
Northern Arapaho
Shana Yellow Calf, an enrolled member of the Northern Arapaho in Wyoming, has been producing art in various mediums since the
1990s. Her contemporary art reflects her plains heritage, her mother’s Chippewa/Metis ancestry, along with a Pacific Northwest coastal
influence from the Puget Sound area of Washington where she grew up. Shana is registered with the Department of the Interior Source
Directory for Native American Artists. She has participated in various art shows in the Pacific Northwest and has developed her website
as www.10buffalos.com, and Etsy @10BuffalosArt where her art and crafts are displayed and available for purchase. As a community
service, 10 Buffalos Art provided free masks for adults and children throughout the Covid pandemic.
Shana Yellow Calf Lukinich, membre inscrite des Arapahos du Nord du Wyoming, crée des œuvres d’art au moyen de différentes techniques
depuis les années 1990. Son œuvre est de facture contemporaine tout en reflétant son patrimoine des plaines et les origines Chippewa/
Métis de sa mère ainsi que l’influence de la côte Nord-Ouest du Pacifique, particulièrement celle de la région de Puget Sound dans l’État de
Washington, où l’artiste a grandi. Shana est inscrite au registre des artistes autochtones du ministère de l’intérieur américain (Department
of the Interior Source Directory for Native American Artists). Elle a participé à diverses expositions dans le Nord-Ouest du Pacifique et

Cecil Youngfox

Before his untimely death in 1987 at age 45, Cecil Youngfox had established himself as one of Canada’s leading native
artists, renowned for his vivid, sensitive images of native cultural traditions. Today, his strong, imaginative vision remains
as strong as ever, drawing the respect and interest of private and public collectors throughout the world. Mr. Youngfox was
born in 1942 in Blind River, Ontario of Ojibway and Metis parents. Among the many honours bestowed on him, Mr. Youngfox
received the Aboriginal Order of Canada for his work in preserving his native heritage.
Avant son décès prématuré en 1987 alors qu’il n’avait que 45 ans, CecilYoungfox s’était affirmé comme l’un des artistes
autochtone canadiens de premier plan. Il était particulièrement renommé pour ses représentations vivantes et sensible des
traditions culturelles autochtones. Aujourd’hui, sa puissance d’imagination reste aussi forte que jamais, attirant le respect et
l’intérêt de collectionneurs privés et de conservateurs de musée partout dans le monde. M. Youngfox était né en 1942 à Blind
